The Freshmen has signed a deal with Across The Universe/Downtown Records, one of the most successful independent labels in the industry.

The deal puts The Freshmen in the company of artists like Gnarls Barkley, Justice, and Scissor Sisters, all of whom have a Downtown connection, and comes after a rush of buzz for the band, which included having one of the most added songs at college radio, significant commercial airplay, and great receptions on the live performance front.

Expect to be hearing a lot more of the band’s buzz-inducing single “Hello There,” which has “summer anthem” written all over it.
