Ayah Marar has released the official music video for “Mind Controller.”

Directed by Dani Deville, the video stays true to Marar’s UK underground roots: It was shot on a Canon 5D camera. In fact, most of the budget was simply spent on airfare to the Los Angeles shooting location. But one look at the finished product makes it clear that there was certainly no tradeoff between cost and quality.

In describing the video, Deville stated, “The plan was always to make a road trip movie, minus the car. The song’s about female empowerment, and what’s more empowering than a cool chick on a cool BMX snaking her way through the mean streets of Los Angeles without a care in the world?”
