With its new EP, “E.V.O.L.U.T.I.O.N.,” Strange Talk has not only changed up its sound, but its music video release strategy.

Sonically, the EP is more EDM than Strange Talk’s earlier synthpop work. This transformation started with the writing of “Something’s bout to Change,” the first single off “E.V.O.L.U.T.I.O.N.” When it came time start thinking about music videos, the band got creative and decided to release one video for each of the EP’s five songs, with each video acting as an installment in a pentalogy.

The “E.V.O.L.U.T.I.O.N.” music video pentalogy visually parallels Strange Talk’s sonic transformation, starting with the video for “Something’s bout to Change,” moving on to the videos for “When It Feels so Good” (feat. Bertie Blackman), “Painted in Gold,” and “Jive,” respectively, and ending with the video for “So in Love.”
