As much as we love the covers that have shot Maria Zouroudis to YouTube stardom, we’ve been itching for more original material from her. And now we have some to share… Well, sort of.

“Beautiful Beginnings” is the result of a songwriting exercise that Zouroudis undertook. The idea was to rewrite the lyrics to a preexisting song. After settling on Ne-Yo’s “Part of the List,” she expressed and expanded upon the original version’s concept of reminiscing about the good parts of a relationship in her own words, going to show that there’s more than one way to communicate the same idea — always something that’s wise to keep in mind when working on a song.
